Diagnosis First

Septic System Repair — Tanks, Leach Lines & Drainfields

Sewage backing up? Soggy ground over your leach field? Alarm going off? We diagnose the real problem before we start moving dirt.

Common symptoms and what they usually mean

Sewage backing up into the house
Full tank, plugged inlet tee, or blocked main line — start here before assuming worse.
Soggy or unusually green ground over the leach field
Leach lines are pushing effluent to the surface — often failing or root-choked lines.
Sewage odors outside near the tank
Cracked lid, failed seal, or overflowing tank. Usually a same-day fix.
Alarm on the pump chamber
Failed effluent pump, float switch, or high water in the pump vault.
Toilets gurgling
Venting or partial blockage — sometimes a warning of a bigger back-up coming.
Slow drains across the whole house
Full tank almost every time. Pump first, then reassess.

What we repair

  • Inlet & outlet baffles — cracked, missing, or corroded baffles that let solids into your leach field
  • Broken or root-invaded lines — main sewer line into the tank, and leach lines beyond it
  • Distribution box replacement — uneven flow to the leach lines is a common Sierra failure point
  • Leach line & drainfield repair or replacement — partial line repair, full field replacement, and everything in between
  • Tank lid & riser replacement — bring lids to grade so future service is a five-minute job
  • Effluent pump & alarm replacement — pump chambers, control panels, and float assemblies

Our diagnostic process

  1. Pump the tank (if needed) so we can actually see what's happening
  2. Inspect the tank, baffles, and outlet water level
  3. Check the D-box and probe the leach lines for effluent level
  4. Write up findings — the honest picture, not the sales pitch
  5. Quote the fix, or fixes, in order of what actually needs to happen

If it's a $250 baffle fix, we'll tell you. If it's a $12,000 leach field replacement, we'll tell you that too — and we won't guilt you into deciding on the spot.
